About Raymundo Racela
Ray Racela, MD, FACS, joined the General Surgery team of First California Physician Partners in the Fall of 2015. He attended the University of Southern California and finished his education at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He completed an internship at New York Hospital of Queens and then finished his general surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. He also completed a Burn Fellowship at the ISR at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas.
Dr. Racela served in the US Navy for 10 years as a pilot before becoming a surgeon. He then served as chief surgeon at Fort Knox, which included a tour to Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with his surgical skills, he will bring along certification to treat wounds and severe burns. Dr. Racela is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Racela was absolutely wonderful in every way, he made sure I understand efficiently what was going to happen to me on Monday morning with my inguinal hernia surgery repair, as when I had came in I did not know what was going on and what an inguinal hernia was, he made sure to show me Everything, and talk to me efficiently and made sure I understand the surgery, and I feel so much better now that I have the surgeon of my choice .

I was very leery about having my procedure here due to a few bad experiences involving the emergency room but I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went and my aftercare has been excellent. I have a new found appreciation of the team at Doctors Memorial Hospital.
